In Memoriam: Kirby Puckett

Hall of Famer, Kirby Puckett, passed away after a major stroke on Sunday.
In the summer of 1993 I was at a Toronto Blue Jays - Minnesota Twins game at the SkyDome. It was Firefighter appreciation night and my brother-in-law Don Kennedy sang the national anthems. The game was sold out, and so I contacted everyone I knew who had seasons tickets so that family and extended family could go. My wife Janice & I ended up in Row 1, just behind 3rd base.
My connection with Kirby Puckett came about when he hit a ground ball, foul, that bounced right into my hand - I didn't get a chance to have him sign it - but I still have the ball.

Sadly, glaucoma forced Kirby Puckett into early retirement, but that didn't stop him from being voted into the Hall of Fame, where his career will be celebrated by all his fans.

Yes, I enjoyed him in Toronto years as well.

I have a funny story about my daughter Rachel when she was around 6 years of age. My dad was down and we were talking 'Jay' talk...and my dad mentioned his name: 'Puckett' in a conversation.

My daughter turned around, most indicnate, and said "Pappa don't swear!!'

My dad and I just howled.

She must be a wanna be preacher kid. RoG

There are far too many outrageous claims in this post to believe in the truthiness of it.
