dcaffeinated pickle has a link to this... I hope it's ironic, but I'm afraid it's real... site: Date to Save.
It has some wonderful slogans as:
- Date to Save
- Flirt to Convert
- Missionary Dating to Save People from Hell
"Not only can we date hot guys (as only hot Christian girls could do), but hopefully we can lead them to God and help them get saved them from the burning fires of Hell."It's stuff like this that makes one want to puke.from Date to Save
What an incredible messing up of the gospel.

I wasn't thinking of puking, but I am laughing.
Interestingly, a few a months ago, I was at friends for dinner. We were in a discussion about dating and marriage and romance, and I explained that it is inappropriate to become sexually active before marriage. They agreed, but only to an extent. I won't explain their extent, but mine is this: no open mouth kissing and nothing beyond that until the wedding.
Of course, they dismissed me as victorian prude.
After desert, the women were into some additional nonsense over this same topic, and one turned to me and said: "would you date a non-Christian?"
To which I replied: "Does God limit His love to non-Christians?"
The other woman then proclaimed that she is now free to date "hot" guys.
But allow me to define a few premises:
#1 - No one, regardless of faith, ought to get deeply involved in any type of relationship which is unhealthy or dangerous (ie: physically abusive, mentally abusive, etc.).
#2 - There are many many people in the world who are not "christians" by the traditional definition, but only because they have not experienced God's love, and the most tangible experience of God's love is through the marriage relationship. It may be, in some situations, the final act necessary for one to believe.
#3 - Who am I to exclude people en masse from me sharing God's love through a marriage relationship, merely because of some loose religious affiliation which is absent? I would be a hypocrite and a liar.
#4 - You may argue that I am only using this as an excuse to "date around". But remember: I'm a victorian prude. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I don't go out on many dates because of my principles. The maxims which allow me to date non-christians also prevent me from being able to date them.
I am 150% sure that the site is supposed to be a joke. Maybe 200%.
It has to be a joke...
