purple pastor has been reading Neil Cole's Organic Church: Growing Faith Where Life Happens.
I really should read this book [after I read the dozen or so that ahead of it on my list]. Any book that looks like a coffee cup has got to be good... right!?
OK, so maybe I shouldn't judge the book by it's cover,
- but being published by Leadership Network,
- having an endorsement by Alan Hirsch, co-author of The Shaping of Things to Come: Innovation and Mission for the 21st Century Church,
- and a forward by Len Sweet.
You Christians look after a document containing enough dynamite to blow all civilization to pieces, turn the world upside down, and bring peace to a battle-torn planet. But you treat it as though it is nothing more than a piece of good literature.Gandhi’s words have a way of cutting through everything and refocused our attention on the vital importance of Scripture for all of life. I cannot live without it. Neither can my church. It is a book that calls use to a way of living that is noticeably different than the values of our world / culture.
