top car movies - hotrod mag

Hot Rod has compiled a list of what they think are the top car movies.
Some of these are so bad they are good. Remember, there are a limited number of good car movies
3 "classics" (& I use the term affectionately") are:
#4 Bullet - you have to love the car chase scene... it is a classic
#8 Smokey and the Bandit - great, fun, goofy movie
#38 Goldfinger - Q goes through all the modifications to Bond's Austin Martin

Cars was not included on the list - I haven't seen it, but some friends say it's pretty good.

I nominate Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Love Bug.

"Cars" is witty as a social commentary on the death of the small town due to the interstate bypass.

However, I just don't appreciate anthropomorphising which neglects basic details: who makes the cars? who refines the oil (into gasoline for the cars to run)? etc.

And what does this do for children?

So-called children's films which actually teach lies!

But whatever, I'm not a parent, so I'm not responsible for some young mind being led astray.

However you enjoy "Cars", it's definitely kitschy.
