willimon-isms

Here are some quotes by william willimon, via aaron ghiloni
"The church has always wanted the Trinity to be parochial rather than processional. The church apostolic is not that church that is proud of being its succession of dead men; rather, to be apostolic is to be a body in motion, a church that is sent... Introversion is the death of a church because the Trinity, for all its loving concern, seems to be ruthless in killing any church that won't be apostolic."

"Here is a God who is peripatetic, nomadic, ecstatic, unable to settle down…God has absconded our stable fellowship in order to beat the bushes in search of people we don't like, has abandoned the sheep safe in the fold in order to risk looking for the lost."
Excerpts from the recent 8th Annual Christian Century Lecture by William Willimon
Some good reminders that the church is to always be looking out for the lost. It is so easy, to be inward looking, to only care for itself (yes, the church is to care for it's members - but often the best way to care is to equip its members for ministry / service).

You and 'Willi' get a huge 'Amen' and 'preach it like it is' from the choir at walkingchurch.r

Maybe it is because it is late at night or maybe I have a really low IQ, but can someone explain this in a simple thought? It is probably clear as day, but what is meant by "Here". Thanks if someone has time.
