conversion

J. R. Briggs has been listening to Scot McKnight teach on conversion theory. McKnight believes that every conversion to Christ goes through six dimensions, through a varying period of time.
  1. context - we all come from a background that frames life for us ("worldview")
  2. crisis - we all experience it - pain, disillusionment, frustration, hearbreak, heartache, etc...
  3. quest - [If you have crisis you want it to end, whether you can articulate the painful criss or not. Hybels coined the popular term known as "seekers."
  4. an encounter - followed by an interaction
  5. a commitment - which always has consequences - good or bad, big or small.
  6. church - an involvement in the Body of Christ
Interesting thoughts.
