re-reading

I don't read a lot of novel, I read even fewer a second time. I'm making an exception with Chaim Potok's My Name is Asher Lev.

Janice had wanted a novel from the library, so I picked it up for her, as well as another book by Potok - Old Men at Midnight. My wife enjoyed My Name is Asher Lev so I thought I would re-read it myself.

Asher Lev is a Hasidic Jew who has an extraordinary talent for art. As he reflects on his childhood and teenage years we see the tension between creative young Asher and his traditional father, Aryeh.

I've just got into it, but it's as good as I remember.
