We have some major changes coming up.
A bit of history:
I left the church I was pastoring in Waterloo in December 2006. It's been a... weird, good, "the Lord has provided" type year.
We floated around checking out what God was doing in Kitchener-Waterloo. There is some good stuff... there is also a lot of "religious stuff" happening in the name of church.
We connected with some good people.
I thank God for our small group that has been a great support / encouragement during this time.
Fast forward:
Around Thanksgiving Janice & I both started sensing that her mom was needing additional care, that wasn't going to be met by going into a senior's residence. So we started the process of talking with her brothers about our going to live with her.
So, that's what's going to be happening. Here's where we will be living:

If you zoom out [is that the same as unzooming?] you can see that the house is a little north of Leaskdale [that's where Lucy Maude Montgomery - the author of the Anne stories - lived when her husband pastored the Presbyterian Church] and just south of the Zephyr Road.
You can also see that it is in the middle of farm country. Janice's brother farms the home farm just to the east and south of the house. This is going to be a bit of a stretch for me. I lived in Montreal and environs until I was in Grade 7; then we lived in Richmond Hill, just north of Toronto. Since then, we have lived in some smaller towns like Mount Albert [close to Toronto] and Aylmer [close to London], but also Waterloo and Richmond (Vancouver) BC.
The timing of the move is still a little up in the air. We have a house here in Waterloo to sell. We also have a university student living with us. So, the earliest move would be near the middle-end of April.
As far as employment goes, I am doing some computer training for ctc Train Canada. So far, I've been teaching Microsoft Office [PowerPoint, Word, Access] and Dreamweaver. I've been doing this both at their sites in Missassauga and Toronto and off site for clients in Toronto, Oakville, Missassauga and Waterloo.
As well I will be working as a part-time interim with Orillia Community Church. It's informal at this point, as we are still talking about where they want to go during this transition time. I preached there a couple of weeks ago and met with their leadership team. I'll be back in Orilla for the last 3 Sundays in February.
Those of you who have been praying for us over this last year - thanks - and don't stop!
We appreciate you guys.

I had to "unzoom" eight times before I figured out where that is! (My geographic knowledge of the area is somewhat omnidirectional in pattern, with an epicentre of Davis and Main in Newmarket, and ending at Cedar Valley, Sharon, or Bradford.)
Do they have dial up there? (Notice: I didn't even ask if they have high speed!)
wireless broadband is available - we haven't done a site survey yet - but janice's cousins up the road have it and we are at a higher elevation than they are
