I am not a huge fan of all star games, I'm even less of a fan of the "skills" contests.
But last night was MLB home run derby. We were watching House and during the ads we flipped to the home run derby... every time I flipped back Hamilton was hitting.
Josh Hamilton hit 28 home runs in the first round - which put in 10th place for most runs in total. The Texas Rangers outfielder put on a must-see display of jaw-dropping power Monday night, making 500-foot home runs seem routine.
He went on to come in 2nd (they start over from "0" for the last round... to a Canadian, Justin Morneau - you have to love that!
And how about the guy I liked... the 71 year old who threw all those pitches! Clay Counsil, a high school coach in Raleigh, N.C., used to throw him batting practice years ago. He wanted to show Counsil some appreciation for all he's done for local kids.
