100m

The 100m is always one of the most watched events... although personally, I like the drama of the longer events.

Here's video of Donovan Bailey's 9.84 sec 100m on July 29, 1996 in Atlanta.

Today Jamaica's Bolt destroyed that record, and lowered his existing World Record - and he didn't run through the finish - he coasted the last 15m: photos

On Wednesday night Bolt will attempt to become the first man since Lewis in 1984 to win the 100m-200m sprint double at an Olympic Games. Bolt was a 200m before starting to run the 100m in the last year.

If he stays healthy, Bolt will lower the 100m to under 9.6 in the next year.
