change

change:
  • it's the buzz word of this decade
  • it's what is talked about all the time
  • it's the thing that we don't like to do
  • change is hard... especially when it is our ideas and thoughts that need to change.
The thing about not changing is we hinder the advancement of the Gospel / God's kingdom.
In Acts 6, tThe church had grown in size and the way things had been operating need to change. Widows were being neglected, but that isn’t what this passage is about. It is about the fact that changes were needed in the way the church was running. Did you ever notice what it says happened when those changes were made: Acts 6:7 (NIV) So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

It was when they were willing to change, and they implimented those changes, then the number of disciples increased. The church grew and became healthier because as leaders they were willing to make the necessary changes.

At OCC we are looking at a change of location - currently in a school, we are in the process of moving downtown. And so we are looking at a lot of changes. We are dreaming about possibilities and evaluating everything. We will be implimenting changes so that barriers that stop people from coming to Christ will be removed.

It's exciting
it's scary
it's the only place to be
