despair t-shirt
despair often has some great posters - take offs on motivation posters.
as someone once said - the sure sign you are a loser is... you have a collection of motivational posters.
This recent t-shirt is a dig at the recent slate of "random things about me" postings on blogs and facebook.

1957 ferrari

The 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa is unarguably one of the most beautiful and successfully designed race cars ever. RM Auctions has one. It's perfect and expected to destroy the $10,894,400 record set last year. That's a lot of money for a car... but what a car.

that's fast

An Indiana businessman and a race car-driving chauffeur have built what they and the World Record Academy call the world's fastest street-legal car, a 1,600-horsepower beast that does zero to sixty in just 2.1 seconds.

That's right. Two-point-one seconds.

Designer Marlon Kirby and financier David McMahan unveiled the Maxximus G-Force this morning in Beverly Hills, and they'll happily sell you one for $3 million. That kind of money buys you a car with a 7-liter twin turbocharged Chevrolet V8 engine powerful enough to leave the Ferrari Enzo, McLaren F1 and even the mighty Bugatti Veyron in its dust. When Kirby let 'er rip at Rockingham Raceway in North Carolina a few months ago, the car did zero to 100 in 4.541 seconds and peeled off a zero-to-100-back-to-zero time of 8.861 seconds.

56-year-old becomes 1st woman to swim Atlantic
Jennifer Figge became the first woman on record to swim across the Atlantic Ocean. The 56-year-old left the Cape Verde Islands off Africa's western coast on Jan. 12, swimming 19 out of 25 days battling waves of up to 30 feet. The distance from Cape Verde to Trinidad is roughly 700 miles.... The original plan was for her to swim to the Bahamas — a distance of about 2,100 miles (3,380 miles) — but inclement forced them to change their plans and she arrived at Trinidad on Feb. 5. She now plans to swim from Trinidad to the British Virgin Islands, ending her odyssey at the Bitter End Yacht Club in late February.

Brain May solo
I suppose I should say Dr May. He has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Imperial College London. His thesis is entitled "A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud."

The random post hurt me deeply :) I thought about stating 25 random reasons why....but decided against it. I didn't want a shirt to come out and ridicule any other frivolous thing that I may have done .... Really - is there nothing sacred anymore? Communicating to others in the face to face occurrences of daily life does not bring about even one iota of that much personal information. Good or bad...who cares?.....don't read 'em. They bring out these new - fangled (is that still a word?) ways of socializing which for a hermit like me works well...and then they make fun. Sad! If I had an ounce of creativity I might come back with something very clever and show them....the what for and all of that. (Tongue definitely in cheek)....but I have learned a lot about my "friends" that I never knew or that they never felt comfortable talking about. Is that a bad thing? Hmmmm....now if you had to read 1000 or more of them because that is how many "friends" you have...I get it. Let's make a T-shirt about that, eh? But "friends" has a whole new meaning on Facebook, doesn't it?
Just my rant for the day.
