this is a work in process :: thoughts expressed are current personal opinions and are not necessarily final statements :: i reserve the right to disagree with myself and/or change my mind at any time :: it is a reflection on spiritual growth / formation :: and a little bit of just about everything else thrown in
In order to become myself I must cease to be what I always thought I wanted to be, and in order to find myself I must go out of myself, and in order to live I have to die.
I think this author is close - but I would have to say brother Paul nailed it! You have to die; be crucified; and become Spirit, your true identity in Christ must be birthed by Him. Gal 2.20 and Col 3.3-4 support this notion that you must die...the 'I' rebellious nature must be crucified (something a person cannot do to themselves...it has to be done to them).
Christ, His life, must enter a person to be truly born again.
