If my last post wasn't enough to convince you of that, read through the most recent edition of the Beloit College Mindset List. They put together this list every August to provide a look at the cultural touchstones that shape the lives of students entering college.
Look at some of these items on the list:
3. The Green Giant has always been Shrek, not the big guy picking vegetables.
10. Rap music has always been main stream.
51. Britney Spears has always been heard on classic rock stations. [I can't even say Britney & classic rock in the same sentence]
52. They have never been Saved by the Bell [my daughter can't imagine that there are people who don't know this "classic"]
