The CN Tower was illuminated in gold last night (and all through the night), in celebration of Alexandre Bilodeau and his historic gold medal win in the men's freestyle moguls at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. A demo of Google Liquid Galaxy showcased at TED 2010. Built by a Google employee with his 20 percent of project time, Liquid Galaxy offers a panoramic experience of Google Earth using eight LCD screens in a viewing booth. Though users can tour anywhere form the Earth to the moon to Mars, this demo shows a cruise from San Francisco, Calif., to the Taj Mahal. More info at popsci
