women in the blue bra and Christmas

This is the world into which Jesus came and still comes today.

For the yoke of their burden, and the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian.
For all the boots of the tramping warriorsand all the garments rolled in bloodshall be burned as fuel for the fire.
For a child has been born for us,a son given to us.
~Isaiah 9:5-6
Celebrating Christmas is not an option. Look at the picture. Maybe we just don’t get it. The picture shows a veiled young woman being dragged and beaten by Egyptian military during a protest in Cairo's Tahrir Square earlier this month. We have to celebrate Christmas every year. Christmas, the nativity, the incarnation reminds us that...
The Word became flesh and blood, moved into the neighborhood.
~John 1:14
Maybe if we continue to show up at the nativity scenes of our lives and world, one year it will sink in and we will get it. Then maybe we will know and behave as if the child really is...
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
~Isaiah 9:6
