Gainer banned in Calgary

I heard this on CBC radio this AM so I had to check it out. It is being reported by both the Regina Leader-Post and the Calgary Sun:
Gainer The Gopher has apparently been (gasp!) barred from McMahon Stadium for Sunday's CFL playoff game between his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Calgary Stampeders. Leader-Post
Calgary Stampers president Ted Hellard Tuesday confirmed the team has banned Saskatchewan Roughriders mascot Gainer the Gopher from attending Sunday’s playoff game, fearing the booster’s rallying power may diminish Calgary’s home field advantage. Sun
Apparently (from the CBC radio report) this has been raised during question period in both the Albertan and Saskatchewan governments. It's nice when government is focused on the important issues of the day - long live the Gopher!

Calgary (and much of Alberta) has been populated by Saskatchewan.

Whether the Riders are playing in Regina or Calgary or Edmonton, it's pretty much a "home" game.

I made a video to show us Saskatchewanians are serious about this.
