Sam the Record Man is closing.
Sam the Record Man, was a Yonge Street icon since 1961. It was once Canada's top music retailer.
They announced yesterday, that they will be closing its doors for good next month.
I spent a few Saturday afternoons browsing the records [yes, I'm that old!] at Sam's. You could go there, and if you were looking for something, the staff knew exactly where it was & what else you might like.
Sam's was more than a record store. Founder Sam Sniderman, was an icon, the godfather of the Canadian recording-industry.
