customer service

I will blog the details later this week...
I have had 2 terrible dealings with major companies [as well as a minor company and a government office] who don't have a clue about customer service.

Companies that have a near monopoly on a business are not to be trusted... they simply have no reason to offer good customer service...

I'll rant and explain later this week...

Customer what?

Believe me: what you are experiencing has been the bain of Albertan life for years now. And this extends down to retail and service sector employees as well.

Here's the problem: there are always job vacancies everywhere...all the time. It's rather humourous to see a new Super Wal-Mart or Superstore open up, with 7,000,000 square feet of cheap merchandise bla bla bla, and at the front are 58 checkout lines, with all but 3 closed permanently because there are no staff to work.

Well, this means that an employee will NEVER lose its job unless caught steeling...repeatedly...and "customer service" is a thing of the past. You've got to know what you want and where to find it, and if it's not there, just give up and go somewhere else, because even if you find someone to help you, they won't know anything.

Sadly, even if a person does get fired, just go next door and start work today, because everyone is desperate for anyone to work.

We went to McDonald's for iced milk flavoured "desserts" the other day, and were surprised to see the minimal required information for applying there: name, address, SIN. That's it. Providing prior job experience is optional.

Let's all just get over our expectations that that there ought to be a thing we would like to call "customer service", because that does not exist. And it never will. Perhaps maybe in India.

Do you really need prior job experience to work at McD's?

I disagree that we should expect customer service... I know a number of places that have my business because they treat people like people
