We love to complain about our leaders or potential or possible leaders. One of the things I regularly tell people is: if you don't vote you loose all right of criticizing.
Our neighbours to the south are in the final stretches of their Presidential election campaign. Here in Ontario, our premier just resigned and prorogued parliament. Our federal liberals are gearing up for a leadership race.
Political pundits on both sides of the border are having a hay day. Although, I have to admit, presidential debates are more fun than Canadian federal debates.
I could comment on the fact checking on the USA campaign, or the phrases that go viral ("binder full of women" is a good one), or the stuff that applies to us Canadians (did you catch Romney saying he was all for building pipelines to Canada, so that the USA could be self-sufficient in energy resources?), or the protectionism that was underlying a lot of what was said, or... you get the idea.
But just a reminder to my fellow Canadians, our debates and debunkles are just around the corner.
And to both my fellow Canadians [& no I am not running for office!] and my American friends, I remind us of Paul's words in 1 Timothy 2
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior...
