Don't forget that he was the first to institute civil disobedience. He talked to hookers and widows and bicoloured blokes (Samaritans).
I think that Ghandi may have looked a bit like Jesus.
At the same time he did come with peace... Jesus used paradox all the time to force us out of preconceptions and assumptions about what his Kingdom was all about.
You can't put him in a box. Whenever we try, we end up with religion of Christianity not Christ.
