Listening

…is far more than having a good sound system. 
Amplification and balance do not improve listening, they only make hearing possible.

Listening easily decays into mere hearing. 
There is no faith apart from listening. 
There is no church apart from listening. Jesus says to the seven churches in the book of Revelation “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says”.

All of us have seen social media posts where people’s response are based on the image or the headline [If we are honest, we have been guilty of that ourselves]. You can tell that they didn’t read the article. 
Hearing is like that. 
We can hear sounds and words but unless we are listening, we fail to grasp the message. 

• Are they just some random notes, or are they a piece of soul-stirring music?
• Are they just words, or are they words of hope, or redemption, of repentance, of acknowledgement, of reconciliation?

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says”.

• so that you live the life God has for you
