Lebanon, Israel, Hezbollah

Psalm 122:6: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem
Hezbollah attacks Israel.
Israel attacks Hezbollah.
Lebanon takes a beating.
What is taking place in this portion of the middle east is not new. & because it is not new - even though the intensity of the last couple of days is greater than it has been in recent months - we tend to be somewhat apathetic toward the strife.
People are starting to ask for action - although 2 weeks ago, if the UN security council or the G8 made any sort or resolution, I am sure it would have been denounced.

Canadians in Lebanon are asking "Why is there such a slow response by the Canadian goverment? Why can't we get out?"
We want things to happen instantly.
  • But Americans have been airlifted out - yes - 400 people & prior to being removed they are being asked to sign a note saying they will repay the cost.
  • But Italians have been moved out by ship - yes about 400, because there was an Italian warship offshore.
  • French have been removed - yes, again by a ship that was in the area.
  • The Canadian government is acting quickly - 6 ships are to be in Lebanon, if they can get through the blockade by Wednesday.
Every day must be horrendous for those in the war zone - but it seems to me that having 6 ships available within a couple of days is fast action.

I don't profess to know what the solution is.
I do know that more bombs & rockets is not the solution.

Psalm 122:6: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem
