It seems like Christians are always wanting to fix the church and make the church better. I'm not convinced that the church is all that God designed her to be yet, however, I'm confident that Jesus is still at work as He said He would - "I will build My church."It's a good caution & reminder - even while wanting the church to be all that God wants his Bride to be.
The next time you are tempted to just rip on the church and its problems, consider this wise counsel from Neil Cole: Organic ChurchDon't bash the bride no matter how ugly she looks to you. If you start attacking the bride, sooner or later you're going to have to take on the Groom, and I don't think you want that!
this is a work in process :: thoughts expressed are current personal opinions and are not necessarily final statements :: i reserve the right to disagree with myself and/or change my mind at any time :: it is a reflection on spiritual growth / formation :: and a little bit of just about everything else thrown in

ummmm? Is recognizing and stating that the Bride is a whore the same as "bashing"?
virgil, do you want to expand a little on what you mean by "the church" is mostly a first-century occurrence?
