Field of Dreams
It is 20 years ago today - 21 April 1989 that Field of Dreams was released.
Based on the novel Shoeless Joe, by Canadian W.P. Kinsella, it's one of the best sports movies ever.
If you haven't seen it - go rent it.
Brief summary:
Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella hears a voice in his corn field tell him, "If you build it, he will come." He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm, upon which appear the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. When the voices continue, Ray seeks out the reclusive Terence Mann to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field.

Trivia #1: Matt Damon was an extra in the film. I don't know why I know this.
Trivia #2: It's my favorite Kevin Costner film. By far. AND my favorite baseball movie.
