album review

Album: Timeless Quaker Wisdom in Plainsong
Artist: Paulette Meier
Year: 2017

I have an eclectic interest in music. I have been enjoying this collection of 21 chant-like songs based on the words of 17th-century Quaker leaders, both men and women. The words are sung a cappella in clear plainsong.

To many modern ears, this may appear slow and uninspiring, but when you slow down and listen to the words and reflect, this is a soothing album. The clear, unadorned singing of Paulette Meier draws you into a still place.

Well worth spending some time with this album
