freedom convoy

Canada is in the midst of a mess around the so-called "freedom convoy" and the related protests in other places around our nation.

A couple of very brief, incomplete thoughts on this.

• It is hard to say anything on social media about this. There are many who are seeing this protest as the greatest thing since sliced bread. There are many Christians who are declaring this to be a move of God in our nation. If you try to point out something of the bigger picture, you get shot down. It seems (almost) impossible to have a discussion around this. This is leading to increased polarization in our nation. 
• It is interesting that as Russia moves into and is in the process of taking over Ukrainian districts, those who have been clamouring for "freedom" from vaccine and mask mandates are saying nothing about the loss of freedom and sovereignty for Ukrainians.
